Hamilton’s Lost Treasure

Many years ago, when Hamilton was a tiny, new town, the people of Hamilton made and used their own coins. These Hamilton dollars were able to buy goods and any kind of service – from getting your hair cut to going to the doctor. This Hamilton money was used just like regular money that is issued by the federal government in Washington D.C.
The building that the Museum is in today was once the Old Courthouse. It opened in 1900, almost one hundred and fifty years ago. Many people received their sentences here for the crimes they committed. This building also used to store every record that was created in Hamilton – from wedding certificates, to birth and death certificates. Lots of information, and sometimes money, was held here. Often, these things were stored in one of the nine vaults in the building.
When the Courthouse closed down in the 1970’s, before it became a Museum, there is a rumor that somebody hid a large amount of money in the Old Courthouse.  The money, Hamilton’s lost currency, is hidden somewhere in this building today.
With your help, I think that we can find it. If you are very careful, and follow the clues closely, you might be able to solve this mystery…
