Two Gals Gossiping About Early Montana,
with Kim Kaufman and Evelyn Widhalm

Sponsored by Humanities Montana

Thursday, November 15th, 6-7:30pm

A Theatrical Performance!

What does a madam have in common with a schoolteacher in the late 1800's? Two Gals Gossiping About Early Montana will answer this question. Mrs. Emma Slack Dickenson (played by Evelyn Widhalm) and Madam Mary Gleim (played by Kim Kaufman) come together wondering themselves what they might have to talk about. Strangely enough, they discover some parallels in their mutual experiences, as they each tell their stories. In time, they find themselves gossiping about events and people of the time, albeit from very different perspectives.

Both Evelyn and Kim are members of the Women’s Living History Project, which won a national Award of Appreciation in 2006 from the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation. Kim Kaufman has been portraying Missoula’s murderous Madam Mary Gleim since 2004 and Evelyn Widhalm has been a storyteller for over 10 years.
